Rosie's was right on time again and took us to the airport for check in for our flight to Brisbane. So early we were about the only people there at 5:45am. The flight was on time and off we went for Australia!
Jeff and I were there 14 years ago on our honeymoon. For those of you that read our book, we decided to have a do over this time and create a different experience :) After landing in Brisbane and turning our watches back another 3hrs, we picked up our car and off we went! Jeff is doing great at the driving on the left side of the road while I navigate. Found our hotel on the first try and went for a walk to find some lunch - sushi and sandwiches.
After lunch we drove to South Park, a huge, gorgeous park on the banks of the river that runs through Brisbane. The aquactivity park for kids was amazing with fountains and rivers everywhere and eve trucked in sand for a complete beach. The water was a little cool and with overcast and a breeze so we didn't last too long. There was a public market setting up for tomorrow we looked through and found a sweet shoppe. Rules are not for vacation so we filled up and went a bit crazy!
Further down the park is The Wheel of Brisbane, the 3rd largest ferris wheel in the world. From there we got a complete view and audio tour of the city and some landmarks. Thought of you Susan, took me a while look down, it was high up there!
We are all really tired from our early morning and the time change so it will be a low night and early to bed.
There is little free WiFi here anywhere so posting may not happen as often.
Would love to post the photos here from that day but it seems they are gone, no where to be found! I think I thought I imported them off the camera before I deleted them but was wrong :( Please use your imagination or http://thewheelofbrisbane.com.au/
